Lake Michigan Triathlon, 7/14/07

Just getting started.
Where am I?

Swimming is tough. Not my forte, exactly. This picture is about the last time I was seen with the pack- by the 4th orange buoy I got a lungfull of beautiful Lake Michigan water. Stopped to cough that out and eventually got moving again. By this time the group has left me far, far behind. Took water several more times but fortunately drank it instead of inhaling it... Lake Michigan water is really quite good: cold, clear, just a hint of flavor (salmon?). Navigating was tough-- ended up well of course a couple of times with very fogged up goggles. Waves picked up quite a bit during my time in the water. Good educational experience.

Bike
Quite the bike course: 5 x 5 mile out-and-backs.

Run
10k run went well.
Didn't get passed a single time on the run (of course all the fast people were way out in front).
